Healing-Centered Education

Children can’t learn until they feel safe

In refugee contexts such as Bweyale, CFI has documented high levels of trauma, anxiety, and low self-esteem among children. Thriving Through Play responds directly to that reality: play is a child’s natural language for expression, learning, and healing, helping regulate the mind-body connection and build the trust and emotional awareness that make learning possible again.

  • Creates safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environments
  • Strengthens adult-child relationships as a foundation for wellbeing
  • Helps teachers and caregivers identify and respond to signs of distress
