Alternative Basic Education (ABE) Project.

Overall goal

To enhance the learning outcomes of 600 pupils/students through the involvement of parents and teachers in Oyam and Lira districts respectively.

Statement of Need

To address this ongoing concern, CFI seeks to enhance foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes by forming robust partnerships and integrating innovative approaches such as Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) and Play-based Experiential Education (PE&E). By combining efforts and leveraging diverse methodologies, CFI aims to accelerate progress in improving learning outcomes among vulnerable children, ensuring they have better prospects for future development.

Main Objective

The main objective is to enhance literacy and numeracy outcomes among children in rural areas by forming strong partnerships for Alternative Basic Education (ABE) and integrating innovative approaches like Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) and Play-based Experiential Education (PE&E)

Specific Outcomes

The specific objectives of the task are to;

Improved numeracy and literacy skills among 600 learners (480 Catch up remedial and 120 TaRL)

Improved ability of 19 teachers to effectively engage the 600 learners

Increased stakeholders’ collaboration and advocacy on Ingraining Remedial and TaRL principles and approaches in the Education system.
