Safe and Inclusive Cities (SAIC)

Safe and Inclusive Cities (SAIC) project

Overal goal

Children, adolescents and young people are safe and influence decision-making in resilient communities that respect their rights and offer equal opportunities for all regardless of gender.

Statement Of Need

Every child, adolescent, and young person deserves to grow up in a safe, supportive community where their rights are protected, their voices shape decisions, and equal opportunities exist for all regardless of gender. To achieve this, communities must prioritize child protection policies to prevent violence and exploitation, create safe spaces for expression and growth, and provide mental health support. Young people should be actively included in decision-making through youth councils, leadership programs, and civic engagement initiatives, ensuring their perspectives drive meaningful change.

At the same time, gender equality must be upheld by guaranteeing equal access to education and healthcare, ending harmful practices like child marriage, and challenging stereotypes that limit potential. By investing in youth safety, amplifying their voices, and removing systemic barriers, we build resilient communities where every young person can thrive and lead.

A society that safeguards its youth, listens to their voices, and breaks barriers for their growth is a society building a foundation of true progress. When we empower every young person—regardless of gender—we don’t just change their future; we transform our collective destiny.
