A Holistic Socio-Economic Approach
By combining the VSLA and Piggery approaches, CFI enables PWDs to not only build financial resilience but also gain a sense of dignity, independence, and empowerment. This holistic approach to socio-economic empowerment contributes to breaking the cycle of poverty and exclusion, ultimately fostering the full participation and inclusion of PWDs in society
Projects
CFI is currently implementing Two (2) projects under the Socio-Economic Empowerment Thematic Area.
Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA)
CFI partners with PWDs to create VSLA groups, fostering regular savings contributions. Essential resources like saving kits, passbooks, pens, and padlocks are provided to facilitate group functioning and financial empowerment.
Piggery Project
As part of its socio-economic empowerment strategy, CFI provides a pair of piglets to each household of PWDs. This approach serves as a small but impactful start-up for PWDs, allowing them to engage in pig farming as a source of income.
Piggery Project
Pig farming is a suitable livelihood option for PWDs as it requires relatively low capital investment, space, and physical exertion compared to other agricultural activities.
Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA)
Through VSLAs, PWDs have a platform to come together, save money collectively, and access small loans to invest in income-generating activities or address their immediate financial needs.
